Stone Tower

This cacher is one of the most dishonest and unethical people I have the displeasure of knowing.
Have no idea what she said when complained to HQ regarding my log, but it resulted in my being dropped to basic membership (after nearly two decades of premium) -and- being banned preventing access to my cache finds/hides with all the memories. No contact regarding the antics of this cacher …
-Armchair developed the caches in my area. No picture of her visiting the caches, since she wasn’t there. A sign with name, etc. just shows someone was there, not you!
-Published 5 Earthcaches at ASP for the local event. These caches were based on my ideas and information. https://coord.info/GCB4WD5 / https://coord.info/GC7X3D9
-Published several caches in my area based on my coordinates and information. Was told I had to visit “her” caches and take pictures in order to log them. I visited them multiple times when developing the earthcaches. Armchair development, so don’t believe you even visited them at all.
-I know when a cache is archived, the location is available. What I didn’t know was armchair development, made possible by using exact coordinates and information on the archived cache page, was allowed. Tried to correct that dishonesty and was rewarded by being dropped to a basic membership, after nearly two decades of a premium membership. Exact coordinates, Information, Questions – Really?! Fossil Hunt While You Wait… https://coord.info/GCB4VCF / https://coord.info/GCB4WH1
-Anything look familiar? Rock City Park – No Bees, just Honeycomb https://coord.info/GCB611M / Rock City Park – That Quartz is Stuck Like Glue! https://coord.info/GCB69AG / Rock City Park – Can You Balance It? https://coord.info/GCB698A
-I have an Earthcache (now archived) in my area that she pilfered the idea and published her Ontario edition … same title, similar information, and a significant amount directly copied applied to the Ontario location. There are only two worldwide, mine 10/28/2023 and hers 9/8/2024.
GCAFVNF Geology Meets Education (Earthcache) in Pennsylvania, United States created by rainbowtree
GCAX1XK Geology Meets Education – ON Edition (Earthcache) in Ontario, Canada created by Pasha88
-No credit whatsoever on all caches she published based on my ideas/information. Very narcissistic!
-Was logging caches under her dog’s account, and awarding herself favorite points. When I posted this, that 1 favorite you see on the cache page screenshot is from her dog. Every cache I looked at had her dog logging without the mandatory picture and awarding her a favorite point. Dishonesty in action.
Really HQ! Heap disciplinary actions on an honest cacher, and allow a dishonest one to go “scot-free”!

EARTHCACHE REQUIREMENTS
Observational Task
At GZ, you find a stone observation tower with a small parking area. Look inside the tower, and you will find white growths on the inside of the structure – some are on the wall, ceiling and even the floor! You can find more information about these growths in the description below. Theese growths are what you will need to observe in order to answer the questions.
Questions to Answer
1. Read the below description and state, in your own words, the major difference between speleothem and calthemites. Which would you classify these growths as, and why (the image on the cache page might help with this!)?
2. Looking inside the tower, you will see several sections of growth. Choose one and describe it (size, appearance, color, texture, etc)
3. Based on your observations, do you think these growths are continuing to grow, or are they getting smaller? How big do you think the growth you used in question 2 will be in 25 years?
4. Mandatory: Include a photograph of yourself, your GPS, a signature item, thumbs up, etc at the tower. It can be inside, at the top, on the stairs, or anywhere else you think might make a great photo op. You do not need to show your face in the photo, but your photo must be unique to you.

“Speleothem” is a general geological term for a deposit of calcium carbonate in a cave, including formations such as stalactites, stalagmites and flowstones.
Calthemite is a secondary deposit, derived from concrete, lime, mortar or other calcareous material outside the cave environment. Calthemites grow on or under, man-made structures and mimic the shapes and forms of cave speleothems, such as stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone etc.

MY REPLY
What are you talking about? How in the world can I be an honest geocacher in all I do and get in so much trouble with you?

THIS MUST BE IN RESPONSE TO A COMPLAINT FROM AMANDA (Pasha88)
STONE TOWERhttps://coord.info/GCB4DBH
Didn’t know you could delete a log just because you didn’t like what was said. Nothing in the log violated Terms of Use.

You deleted my log, so am re-instating it. Be aware I learned from another cacher, that this is a public log and you are not allowed to delete it simply because you do not like what was said. She informed me …”It is my log and I can say whatever I want.” When I deleted an especially abusive log, she reported me to Geocaching Headquarters. They restored her log. This log is very mild compared to the stuff she wrote in her logs. So, if you delete this log, I will report you to Geocaching Headquarters. I did not delete your logs, when I did not agree with them.

Pics posted -and- Answers sent.

Since you are choosing to call me out on a public page, I will respond. You are NOT correct. I did very quickly read the cache page, but feel it is very poorly done. Most of your content with pictures is about natural caves, which Stone Tower is NOT. The meat of the lesson is near the end, which admittedly I glossed over. I had deleted my log, but am restoring it so The_Geocaching_Ninja is not falsely accused. So sad, because this Earthcache idea had the potential to be outstanding, worthy of a favorite point.

Am very disappointed in the inconsideration of this cache owner. Didn’t believe the rumors, but now I do. Unfortunately you have taken many of my ideas even using exact coordinates, with nary a Thank you, in addition refusing to let me log without visiting yet again. I made multiple visits when developing these ASP Earthcaches. Did you? I can understand when the lesson is significantly different like this one, but most are not. The Park made a mistake issuing you some of these ASP permits, since I still have active permits on file. Also, the series you are currently developing in my area is another glitch in your favor. I have permission to allow a cacher of my choosing to develop the series. Son who gave you permission was not aware his parents (who run the Park) gave me permission. Regarding that series, you are using all my research and ideas to develop the series where yours were the only logs complaining about those Earthcaches. Go figure!

Want more favorite points? This CO has her dog log her cache and then award a favorite point. Auston2019 logged this cache, awarded a favorite point, but has no mandatory pic posted with the log.
“4. Mandatory: Include a photograph of yourself, your GPS, a signature item, thumbs up, etc at the tower. It can be inside, at the top, on the stairs, or anywhere else you think might make a great photo op. You do not need to show your face in the photo, but your photo must be unique to you. “

Be careful when calling someone out on a public cache page. Verbal bullying is both unkind and reflects more on the bully than the target.

I experienced months of cyber harassment, but was not allowed to delete any logs. ”It is my log and I can say whatever I want.” …. Must be sliding rules that apply to some and not others. The above log had truthful statements but no harassment. CO did not like what I said so complained to HQ. What really “bites” is she wrote caustic statements in her logs, but I did not delete them. Yep, HQ never contacted me for the truth. I was automatically given consequences by dropping my membership to basic and banning me, preventing access to my cache finds/hides with all the memories.

I know when a cache is archived, the location is available. What I didn’t know was armchair development, made possible by using exact coordinates and information on the archived cache page, was allowed. This cacher did exactly that for many of my archived caches. She is currently doing this on the Rock City Park series she is “developing”. I also see her using many of my ideas with absolutely no credit to me. And then to pour salt on wounds, she required me to revisit my sites to take a picture in order to log “her” cache. Really?!

This cacher also unveiled a new way to be dishonest. Create an account for your dog, log the cache under that account, award yourself a favorite point. Was told by HQ to create quality Earthcaches to garner lots of favorite points, thus letting fellow cachers know it is a quality cache. I had nearly 3,000 favorite points given by those who visited my Earthcaches. Amanda also has nearly 3,000 favorite points, most of which were awarded by her dog. Amazing!

  1. I really believe the people at HQ are incompetent. They would rather believe a strident lie than investigate to learn the truth.
You have given a lot of people pleasure with your geocaches, but it’s time to move away from this corrupt organization.
They don’t deserve you and you don’t deserve the angst.
