Grandma and Grandpa (Dad’s Parents)
GRANDMA – GOD’S PROMISE …. A MOTHER’S LOVE
GRANDPA – Grandpa was battling cancer of the liver. Dad took him to the Hoxsey Holistic Cancer Center where they were able to eradicate the cancer. Unfortunately, the liver was too damaged to save his life. However, his remaining days were pain free, and he was able to continue to greet me with joy and a heart overflowing with love.

The following are pics and memories from our decade of
Senior Outreach Library Volunteer travels collecting books
and visiting Senior Centers, Assisted Care Homes, Nursing Homes.
An especially memorable encounter was with one who wanted to participate, but shared her trepidations. Began with SMILES (Kaplans), a book with large print quotes and adorable drawings to color. She was delighted, and then became one of our most enthusiastic and grateful seniors.
Our visit to the Port Allegany Senior Center was a delight. We were always greeted with smiles, gratitude, and a refreshing beverage.
The workshops at the Smethport Senior Center were fun and always appreciated by the director and participants.
At the Nursing Pavilion, one of our seniors wrote poetry and wanted to share it with family and friends. We created a booklet and then printed copies for him to give away.
Many of the booklets we created to share with our seniors are revised and available as pages in the Advice and Calendar sections of Mental Aerobics. And so it is “in our giving do we receive, and in this receiving do we truly grow”. The Rainbow Tree
Lovely! Thanks for sharing these memories. Is the couple in the first picture your dad’s or mom’s parents?

admire your giving nature but I always have to keep u in line at times too.
