In the long ago, the Creator called a council of all the wise ones. In the Creator’s hands was a great ball of light.
“This contains all the wisdom of all the universes, and will make the children of Earth one of us.
Where upon the Earth shall we place this gift, so only those with enough love to share it, and enough wisdom to use it can find it?”
“Let it be placed upon the highest mountain peak, for the children of Earth must keep their vision raised upwards in order to be worthy of this gift,” said one.
“That is good ….
But, they will someday reach the highest mountain peak by using their sheer physical strength alone.”
”Let it be placed deep within the Earth, for the children of Earth must search until they uncover the pure truth to be worthy of this gift,” said another.
“That is good ….
But, their desire for wealth will lead them deep within the Earth to gain the treasures hidden therein.”
“Let it be placed in the depths of the ocean, for the children of Earth must withstand the pressures of their daily life without themselves being crushed in order to be worthy of this gift,” said still another.
“That is good ….
But, they will someday conquer even the ocean depths by applying their intellectual abilities.”
For a time all were silent.
Then one spoke saying, “Let us place it deep within the heart of each of Earth’s children.
Those who rely on their physical strength will only look in those places revealed by their outward senses.
Those who seek material treasures will have neither the time nor the desire to even search for this gift.
Those who rely on their intellectual abilities will use their time and energy devising complicated formulas and procedures to locate this gift.
However,
for those who are sincerely searching, let us place special signposts upon the Earth to guide them.
Let all life be placed within a seed. Each time the children of Earth take in nourishment from the fruits of the earth ….
or
witness the miracle of birth,
they will see that the kernel of life is contained within.
Let there be special stones placed beneath their feet, plain on the outside but containing glorious beauty within.
Let the gentle drifting of the clouds across the sky ….
the music of bubbling water falling over rocks ….
and the soaring of feathered ones
high above their heads,
point the way to the peace, joy, and wonder
found only in the stillness within the heart.
Finally,
let us send special teachers to Earth to guide the way to this treasure for all those who are able to recognize them and will stop long enough to listen to their counsel.”
“That is very good ….
So shall it be,”
said the Creator.
So, the great ball of light containing all the wisdom of all the universes
was placed within the heart of each of Earth’s children.
Through the ages,
they have searched every corner of the earth
in their quest for this treasure,
but will find it only when they stop long enough to look deep within themselves.
